Why We're Supporting The AIP BIPOC Network
We’re SugarFit—an active community in Sugar Land committed to moving with purpose and living well. Whether we’re dancing, stretching, or strength training, we know that wellness is more than just exercise—it’s about access, equity, and support. Many of us are living with or impacted by chronic illness, and we’re fundraising for The AIP BIPOC Network (ABN) during #Give828 because their work is changing lives.
The AIP BIPOC Network is a Black-led national nonprofit improving the quality of life for the BIPOC autoimmune community through Awareness, Advocacy, Action, Assessment, and Access. They use a dual framework—combining the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) with Access, Inclusion, and Prevention—to bring culturally relevant, trauma-informed education, support, and advocacy to people who are often left out of traditional wellness spaces.
ABN serves individuals across the full spectrum of diagnosis, symptoms, and suspected autoimmune conditions—especially in historically excluded and under-resourced communities.
Here’s what your donation supports:
🔴 ROCK the Block – A flagship community health expo bringing screenings, services, and autoimmune education into under-resourced neighborhoods
🔴 AIP BIPOC Roundtables – Monthly virtual conversations that validate lived experiences and provide real-life tools for healing
🔴 Community Health Outreach – In-person events offering screenings, education, and connections to care
🔴 Private Support Spaces – A safe digital community for connection, mentorship, and guidance
🔴 Policy & Research Advocacy – Pushing for BIPOC representation in research, clinical trials, and public health strategies
🔴 Holistic Health Education – Blogs, workshops, toolkits, and presentations that adapt AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) to our lived realities
Why Give 8/28 Matters
#Give828 is a national day of giving dedicated to uplifting Black-led, Black-serving nonprofits. It takes place every year on August 28 during Black Philanthropy Month, commemorating powerful moments in Black American history:
August 28, 1955 – The murder of Emmett Till
August 28, 1963 – Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech
August 28, 2005 – Hurricane Katrina’s landfall
August 28, 2008 – President Obama’s nomination
This day honors both pain and progress—calling on us to support healing, justice, and equity in our communities.
Our Team Goal
Our SugarFit team is setting a bold goal to raise $500 in support of The AIP BIPOC Network’s mission. We believe in the power of community to create real, lasting change—and every single donation helps us get one step closer.
Thank you for standing with us and supporting this important cause. Let’s move forward together!
