Why We're Supporting The AIP BIPOC Network

We’re The Elusive Ladies & Gents—a proud community of women and men who move with rhythm, purpose, and unity. Whether it’s through line dancing, wellness events, or gathering in support of one another, we know that true health goes beyond movement—it’s about access, equity, and being seen.

That’s why we’re fundraising for The AIP BIPOC Network (ABN) during #Give828. Their mission speaks to everything we believe in: community, healing, and representation in chronic illness care.

Elusive Ladies & Gents - ROCK the Block 2024

Who They Are

The AIP BIPOC Network is a Black-led national nonprofit improving the quality of life for the BIPOC autoimmune community through Awareness, Advocacy, Action, Assessment, and Access. They use a dual framework, combining the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) with Access, Inclusion, and Prevention, to bring culturally relevant, trauma-informed education, support, and advocacy to people who are often left out of traditional wellness spaces.

ABN serves individuals across the full spectrum of diagnosis, symptoms, and suspected autoimmune conditions, especially in historically excluded and under-resourced communities.

What Your Donation Supports:

💗 ROCK the Block – A flagship community health expo bringing screenings, services, and autoimmune education into under-resourced neighborhoods

Why Give 8/28 Matters

#Give828 is a national day of giving dedicated to uplifting Black-led, Black-serving nonprofits. It takes place every year on August 28 as part of Black Philanthropy Month, commemorating key moments in Black American history:

  • August 28, 1955 – The murder of Emmett Till

  • August 28, 1963 – Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech

  • August 28, 2005 – Hurricane Katrina’s landfall

  • August 28, 2008 – President Obama’s nomination

This day honors both pain and progress, calling on us to support healing, justice, and equity in our communities.

Our Fundraising Goal: $500

With your help, we’re raising $500 to support ABN’s life-changing work—and to ensure that more people in our community can access the care, education, and connection they deserve. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you for joining The Elusive Ladies in standing for wellness, equity, and representation in chronic illness care.
