Supporting Young Black Girls Mental Health

Hi! I’m Tatiana Porter, and I’m a member of the HER Voice Youth Board. I joined because I want to make mental health an open conversation for Black girls, especially in our community. Growing up, I was super shy, and I didn't really have confidence in myself. I know firsthand how tough that can be to handle. But Black girls don't need to be "fixed"; we just need a safe space to be heard.

That’s why I’m raising money for our MH Boxes. They are comfort kits filled with comforting items, affirmation cards, and emotion stickers. The stickers are my absolute favorite because they show different feelings. I love putting one on my phone to match exactly how I’m feeling that day!
