Meet The Students You Support

Update posted 6 days ago

Behind every dollar raised is a real student stepping onto a plane for the first time. Our inaugural cohort included students traveling to Paris, Rabat, Madrid, and Tokyo, many of them first-generation college students who had real financial barriers before applying to the Access Fund.

Your gift to this campaign helps us grow that number for the 2026-2027 year, with a goal of funding 10-12 students across 8-10 countries. We are grateful for everyone who has given so far, and we still have a way to go to reach $2,500.

Every year, first-generation and low-income college students earn acceptance into study abroad and global learning programs that could change the trajectory of their education and careers. Then the real barrier shows up: passports, visas, flights, and program fees that financial aid packages rarely cover. Program fees and flights are consistently the two largest gaps Access Fund applicants face, so 80% of this goal goes directly against those two costs.

Access Abroad Project (AAP) exists to close that gap. We remove the financial and emotional barriers standing between underrepresented students and the global learning experiences they've already earned a spot in.

Through our Access Fund, we provide direct financial support to students who have been accepted into international programs but cannot afford to go. Through Globetrotter Goodies, we help students prepare for the practical and emotional realities of studying abroad, often for the first time in their families.

This Give 8/28, every dollar raised goes directly into the Access Fund. Your gift becomes a passport fee, a flight, a program deposit, and for a student, a door that opens instead of closes.

We are a young organization, founded in 2025, built by people who believe access to global opportunity should not depend on a family's bank account. Join us on August 28 and help send a student abroad.
