High School Tea Talk
DiversiTea Divas is building on the success of our flagship Legal Tea Talk for undergraduate students with the launch of the High School Tea Talk. This new initiative will bring the same structure of intentional care, mentorship, and access to professional and cultural experiences to high school juniors and seniors in New Orleans as they prepare for their next steps.
The High School Tea Talk is designed to equip young Black women with mentorship, skill-building opportunities, and cultural access as they pursue higher education and professional careers. Mentees will take part in one-on-one mentorship, professional development sessions, cultural experiences, and networking opportunities. This pilot will also create space for students to share what they need in order to move from graduation into higher education and professional opportunities. Just as the Legal Tea Talk began with conversations and grew into ongoing cohorts that now support young women across Louisiana, the High School Tea Talk will lay the foundation for programming shaped directly by the voices of our youngest mentees.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to launch this effort. Your gift will directly support students and ensure they have the resources and mentorship needed to succeed.
A gift of $50 can cover transportation for one student to attend Tea Talk sessions for a semester.
A gift of $100 can provide a professional mentor with an honorarium to lead a session.
A gift of $250 can supply one student with a full career-readiness toolkit, including testing support and professional resources.
A gift of $500 can underwrite a guest speaker or special workshop.
A gift of $1,000 can help cover the cost of food, space, and materials for a Tea Talk gathering of 20 students.
