Most of us can name the woman who helped feed our future.
Now we have an opportunity to become that woman for someone else.
A baby nourished today can become a child who understands the power of food.
That child can grow into a leader who nourishes families, strengthens communities, and transforms the food system.
Put a story in her hands.
Put opportunity in her path.
Help WANDA nourish the next generation.
Why WANDA?
WANDA is a Black women-led nonprofit building a pipeline and platform for women and girls of African descent to lead from farm to health.
Since 2016, WANDA has connected women, children, families, scholars, educators, birth workers, farmers, health professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates through scholarships, food education, storytelling, maternal Food as Medicine, community gatherings, and leadership development.
WANDA brings together capabilities rarely held within one organization:
Nutrition and public-health knowledge
African diaspora food and cultural intelligence
Community trust
Children’s storytelling and media
Scholarships and leadership development
A network stretching from Washington, D.C., to Oklahoma, Nigeria, and the wider African diaspora
WANDA does not only ask what people are eating today.
We ask:
Who is being nourished?
Who is learning?
Who is leading?
And who will shape the food system tomorrow?
