COVID-19 Learning Relief

The 2020 school year has been a truly unprecedented one at Resurgence Hall.  Between the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing fight for racial justice and equality nationwide, our community needs your support more than ever.  Following a temporary shut-down of in-person learning in March 2020, we reopened our doors to in-person learning in July 2020 - in response to demand and need on behalf of our families, making Resurgence Hall one of the only school systems in Georgia to open with strict health and safety measures in place.  Approximately half of our scholars have returned to campus, and the other half are enrolled in our E-School program, thus meeting the needs of all Resurgence Hall families.

As a school, we are facing a two-pronged crisis: reduced resources and increased demand for services.  The COVID-19 pandemic has had an outsized impact on our Black community, both in the health of our families and their economic security.  Many of the families we serve held jobs that were reduced or eliminated during the pandemic or front-line jobs that put them at greater risk of contracting COVID-19.  Our families require more from Resurgence Hall than ever before through increased demand for counseling services, school nutrition subsidies, and additional tools to make up for the learning loss created by disruptions in instruction due to the pandemic.  

We ask that you please consider supporting us in one of many ways - from learning supplies to ensure our scholars continue to receive the high-quality education they deserve, to counseling services to help them persevere through these uncertain times.  Any gift you give is fully tax-deductible and will have a lasting impact on our scholars and the broader Resurgence Hall community.

A gift of $50 will provide the school with TEN ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM LICENSES where they can further their E-school coursework and receive real-time feedback on their work.  

A gift of $75 will provide scholars with an AT-HOME LEARNING KIT complete with a bookbag, headphones, and school supplies so they can fully engage with and excel in their coursework.

A gift of $100 will provide scholars a ONE-HOUR SMALL GROUP THERAPY SESSION so they can discuss their feelings in a safe space and receive the support they need to navigate these unprecedented times.

A gift of $150 will provide scholars a CHROMEBOOK so they can attend E-school classes, engage in rigorous instructional content, and complete assignments alongside their peers and receive feedback from their teachers.
