Jackson's Monotype IV, 2006 was purchased by FAAAC in 2021 and gifted to the Columbia Museum of Art.

Our fundraising goals support the mission of the Friends of African American Art & Culture of the Columbia Museum of Art.  We strive to further the Museum’s mission to educate, enrich and inspire the community and visitors to our state while increasing engagement with members of the community interested in African American art and culture.

In 2021, FAAAC purchased its first artwork by an African American artist. Oliver Lee Jackson's Monotype IV, 2006 was recently placed on display at the Columbia Museum of Art.  Your contributions made this purchase possible and support programming that connects Museum visitors with the permanent collection of works from African American artists, exhibitions featuring African American artists and events that offer a real-life perspective on the contributions of African American artists.  FAAAC programming includes interactive events with local artists; sponsored programming in celebration of Martin Luther King Day and Black History Month; and programming that complements works and exhibitions by Black artists.

Join us in supporting Black art in Columbia and the Southeast region!
