THANK YOU!

Update posted 4 years ago

I want to thank you each and every one of you who have chosen to celebrate my birthday by giving to Abide Women's Health Services. $7,332 was raised! This is huge!

As much as I wanted my 90's R&B themed Karaoke party, this gift is even better.  The clinic is about to undergo one more set of renovations and then we will be set to open soon. This is exciting news! You just paid for a big chunk of those renovations. Additionally, we just added to our team. The way things are coming along has been mind-blowing and I have you to thank.

Stay tuned for more important updates in the near future. Lastly, it's not too late to share the love. My birthday is September 15th and this fundraiser will remain up until then.

Thank you again!

Cessilye

Hey fam!

So, Covid legit hijacked my plans of having a 90's R&B karaoke party to celebrate turning the big 40. So, I figured the best way to celebrate is by raising a rediculous amount of funds just for my birthday. Sounds selfish right? Well, it's not. These funds will go to support the labor it takes to run an organization such as Abide. An organization that will change the trajectory of Black maternal and infant health here in Dallas.

To my supporters, you know that Black maternal health is my jam. I stepped away from hands-on doula work in order to step fully into the role of advocacy for Black birth workers and Black maternal health.  I do this through personal activism through writing/speaking and professionally through my role as Co-founder and Executive Director of Abide Women's Health Services.  What we are doing at Abide is what many Black women are doing across the nation but it's historical hear in Dallas.

In a city that was the epicenter of racism, and still is to a certain degree. Now is the time to finally do something that is long overdue.

CENTER BLACK WOMEN

I believe Dallas owes Black image-bearers for the damage that has been done here and the best way to do that is by investing in it's women. I'm reminded of this beautiful quote.

"Communities, countries, and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women." - Michelle Obama

I believe this is true. And because I believe it to be true, I am firmly committed to pursuing justice for Black women in South Dallas and beyond. Will you join me? Your donation will help us to not only support the establishment of our Easy Access Clinic but it will help us in also establishing the first ever BIPOC led birth center in DFW that centers Black and Brown women and their lived experiences.

Are you ready to make history?

I am.

Join me today and make this birthday one I will never forget.
