FUEL THE SHIFT

Black communities carry the greatest and most disproportionate burden of lifestyle-driven chronic disease. Yet the Black-led organizations closest to those communities and delivering impactful solutions remain chronically underfunded and unsustainable.

FUEL THE SHIFT is our $20,000 Black Philanthropy Month campaign to help change that.

Power is Giving is the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region's only Black-led, Black-benefiting nonprofit exclusively focused on advancing optimal wellness and equity through evidence-based, culturally aligned whole food, plant-based nutrition and lifestyle education.

Co-founded by mother-daughter team Dawn Hilton-Williams and Nadia Hilton-Adams, our free Eat Drink Disrupt (EDD) programs connect children, adults and families with an extraordinary team of Black and Brown physicians and health experts, former NCAA Division I tennis athletes who matriculated through historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Olympians, former NFL athletes, nutrition professionals, chefs and mentors.

Through flavorful and free whole food, plant-based meals, movement, mentorship and evidence-based expert-led education, we give communities access to the tools, resources and interventions that help prevent, arrest and, in many cases, reverse the lifestyle-driven chronic diseases plaguing Black and Brown communities.

10 YEARS | 13K LIVES IMPACTED | 98% OF OUR PARTICIPANTS ARE BLACK

Accessible, affordable, wellness-promoting food is essential. So is access to the knowledge, expertise and evidence that empowers people to use food and lifestyle to change the trajectory of their health.

Your investment helps us expand programming, as well as keeping access free.
