Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative's mission is to build the permanently affordable, community-controlled housing that we all need, and to build power within our community to win equitable housing policies and laws so that low and moderate-income New Orleanians can enjoy housing security and resist displacement.

Jane Place has been working on behalf of New Orleans renters and to develop rental housing for over 15 years! As a community land trust and housing rights organization, our goal is to transform unjust housing policies and practices by engaging in strategies that create permanently affordable housing, advance tenant rights, and uphold equitable housing patterns and land-use planning. We do this through three pillars of work: 1) building permanently affordable housing, 2) building community power to fight for housing rights, and 3) community centered advocacy based on independent research.
