When traditional systems fail, the Village steps in.

Since 2019, It Takes A Village Collaborative (ITAVcollab) has been building an Integrative Wellness Hub™ where Black women and justice-impacted individuals can access culturally grounded clinical care, holistic healing, community connection, and pathways to restoration.

Give 8/28 is an invitation to invest in the Village we're building.

Our Story

The Village started with two sisters and a shared belief.

ITAVCollab was founded in 2019 by sisters Shoareged and Aishia Phillpotts after recognizing that the need for healing was bigger than any one individual experience.

What began as a conversation became a commitment: to build the kind of Village they knew was possible—one where people could access care that recognizes their whole selves, where clinical and holistic approaches can work together, and where community is part of the healing process.

That vision became It Takes A Village Collaborative, a community-centered wellness ecosystem rooted in Prince George's County and extending throughout the greater Washington, D.C. region and beyond.

“We don't believe people should have to navigate healing alone. We believe the Village is part of the solution.”

What We've Built

The Integrative Wellness Hub™ brings together multiple pathways to healing and connection.

Through our Integrative Wellness work, Black women can access healing circles, wellness cohorts, retreats, community wellness experiences, and culturally grounded practitioners within their communities.

Through our Healing Justice work, justice-impacted individuals can access healing-centered reentry programming, identity restoration, workforce readiness, leadership development, and community reintegration support.

Across both pillars, our approach is rooted in the same belief:

Healing is not just an individual journey. It strengthens families, relationships, workplaces, and communities.

Invest In The Village

August 2026 marks the 15th anniversary of Black Philanthropy Month, a global campaign to recognize, amplify, and invest in Black philanthropy and Black-led organizations.

Yet Black-led nonprofits make up approximately 8% of U.S. nonprofits while receiving less than 7.4% of philanthropic giving, with approximately 45% less revenue and 91% less unrestricted net assets than white-led organizations.

Intentional investment allows organizations like ITAVCollab to build the infrastructure our communities need—not simply respond to the priorities of a funding cycle.

Your gift helps sustain the people, programs, practitioners, and community experiences that make culturally grounded healing accessible.

$25 → Support a community wellness experience
$50 → Provide participant resources
$100 → Expand access to culturally responsive care
$250+ → Invest in the infrastructure that makes the Village possible

For Give 8/28, our goal is $2,500. Every gift helps us continue building an ecosystem where Black women and justice-impacted individuals can access care, connection, and pathways to healing.

This is the Village we're building.

A Village where care recognizes the whole person.
Where clinical care and holistic healing meet.
Where justice-impacted individuals are met with restoration and possibility.
Where wellness is community care and healing is a birthright.
