We Trust In Us Incorporated is a grassroots, Black-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit born and based in South Sacramento, California
One of the most overlooked and underserved regions in the state. We exist to uplift youth, support struggling families, and build community power where systemic neglect has long created cycles of poverty, trauma, and invisibility.
We don’t approach this work from theory we live it. Our leadership and programs are rooted in lived experience, cultural fluency, and real community hustle. We know what it’s like to survive hard times, and we believe in creating pathways for others that are authentic and creative.
OUR MISSION
To empower South Sacramento youth and families through creative expression, economic stability, and community-driven healing while building a lasting infrastructure of ownership, visibility, and opportunity for those who have been historically overlooked and underserved.
We meet people where they’re at and walk with them toward where they need to be. We exist to uplift the voices, talents, and potential of our community through programs that are rooted in culture, built on truth, and sustained by love.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
We work across three interconnected lanes:
Youth Development & Expression, Economic Mobility & Stability, Community Healing & Visibility
YOUTH PROGRAMS - For the Culture, By the Culture Our youth programming blends entrepreneurship, mental health, creativity, and identity-building providing young people with tools they can use for life, not just for show.
• We Print Our Path (Ages 14–19) Apparel design and entrepreneurship workshop where teens sketch, design, press, and wear their own custom streetwear brand. Embroidery, Screen Printing heat press, DTF printing, and confidence they can wear home.
• Write to Heal (Ages 13–18) A creative journaling and wellness experience led by published Black authors. Youth reflect, write, publish, and walk away with their own handmade journal and new skills for self-expression, mindset, and emotional resilience.
• Young Creators Lab (Ages 9–14) A creativity and production lab exposing kids to design, layout, screen printing, in a hands-on, age-friendly space.
• We Trust Game Night (Ages 10–19) A social and emotional bonding event using PS5, Xbox, Switch, and tournament-style games to foster connection, fun, and mentorship - with leadership opportunities and snacks provided.
COMMUNITY EVENTS - Impact, Not Just Optics We host high quality, high love community events that bring families together, connect them with vital resources, and offer joy without barriers.
• Unity in the Community (Annual) Our flagship summer event with 500+ attendees. Free food, jumpers, resource booths, haircut stations, youth games, music, and community sponsors coming together in the heart of South Sac.
• Trunk or Treat (Annual) A safe and joyful Halloween celebration where kids receive candy, play games, and connect with costumed community leaders and vendors.
• Car Wash Fundraisers Youth-led, adult-supported fundraisers where teens help run operations, handle money, and engage with supporters. Often paired with food plate sales and raffles.
• Pancake Breakfasts & Yard Sales Seasonal pop-ups that build community and fund core programs, hosted at our Franklin Blvd site.
OUR DIFFERENCE
We’re not a nonprofit that just prints flyers and hosts events. We are the community. We walk it, live it, raise our kids in it and fight every day to protect it.
We don’t chase trends we build systems of hope, ownership, and long-term transformation for Black and Brown communities who are always the last to be funded but the first to be blamed.
Our vision is not small we’re building something big with small, consistent steps.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
• Black-led nonprofits receive less than 2% of total philanthropic dollars in the U.S.
• Youth in our area face extreme underinvestment and rising violence, poverty, and educational inequities.
• Traditional institutions fail our families but we don’t.
Donate. Share. Volunteer. Sponsor.
This is South Sac’s time. And when we trust in us, we all rise.
