Truly Valued is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and equipping young individuals with the necessary skills and support to thrive as successful adults. Our purpose is to foster personal growth, develop essential life skills, and promote a strong sense of identity among youth.

Our organization's primary goal is to cultivate a positive and nurturing environment where young people can flourish and reach their full potential. Through a range of programs and initiatives, we aim to enhance their academic performance, boost employability, reduce recidivism, and improve overall well-being. We believe in nurturing the personal growth and self-discovery of young individuals. Our programs foster a positive and supportive environment where youth can explore their interests, talents, and passions. We encourage them to develop a strong sense of self-identity, self-esteem, and resilience, empowering them to navigate challenges and make informed life choices.

Truly Valued is committed to empowering young individuals, fostering personal growth, and equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in adulthood. Through our supportive programs, outcome tracking, follow-up surveys, and community engagement, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth and adults that we serve.

I AM Academy

I AM Academy will include weekly character and confidence building programs for youth in elementary, middle and high school, a summer program, and community engagement for families. All programs use the evidence- based curricula of The Nurturing Parenting program.

Success for I Am Academy participants is defined and determined by 80% of participants showing positive behavior changes in two or more of the four pillars of building character, confidence, education opportunities, and self-esteem and awareness. 

I AM Academy results as of May 2023- (2 sites surveyed)

1. 18 of 19 (95%) named two things they learned that represented at least three of the four pillars.
2. 17 of 19 (89%) named something that they are doing differently as a result of what they learned such as respecting others and engaging in community service.
3. 16 of 19 (84%) stated that they respect themselves more and are better aware of their surroundings as a result of what they learned. 
4. 10 of 19 (53%) reported that they felt the program was inclusive, felt like a family, topics were relevant and the staff makes Truly Valued different from other mentoring programs. 
5. 88% of returning youth have not received referrals in the 2022 school year compared to 2021 school year.

E3 (Educate, Enlighten and Empower)

This event allows participants to meet and talk with successful professionals from the community who share their own backgrounds and information about their careers. This program is offered to a wider range of youth throughout the year, allowing us to expand our service as well as to identify new youth to enroll in our weekly program.

E3 Speaker Series April 1, 2023 - Entrepreneurship – Key Fitch

1. 32 RSVP, 22 in attendance, 16 completed the reflections.
2. 16 out 22 73% of attendees participated in responding to the reflection question.
3. 15 out 16 94% of reflection participants expressed that they would do something differently because of what they learned.
4. 16 out 16 100% of reflection participants expressed that the presentation positively impacted their outlook on entrepreneurship. 

Nurturing Families

The Nurturing Families Program®  is a family-centered program designed for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Both parents with children birth to 18 years participate group-based. Lessons are competency-based ensuring parental learning and mastery of skills. 

March 2023 Cohort-

Success for Nurturing Families participants is defined by 70 % of participants showing improvement according to the Adult Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI) as indicated through pre and posttests.

1. 3 out of 4 (75%) participants achieved this target.
