Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet

We are excited to participate in Give 8/28 for our second year! As a Black-led institution, we spend a lot of time and energy advocating to build trust in Black-led programming.  We are asking you to give so that we can continue to develop dance programs that children can connect to and benefit from.  Our signature program Dancing Dreamers helps children dig through emotional trauma and learn to dream big through movement and journaling.  Your support will allow us to continue to build our network of outreach partners to make dance accessible and affordable for all.  We are raising money to train new outreach teachers, purchase portable blue tooth speakers, and basic tablets as we continue to expand to new sites.  We recently confirmed a contract with Black Child Development to come 5 days a week for outreach dance programming at their sites starting this month!  We also partner with D-UP and Greensboro Housing Authority and that programming will begin in January and through the summer.  We appreciate your support!

Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit dance production company located in Greensboro, NC.  We create original dance productions featuring new works from Resident Choreographers, Princess Johnson, Willie Hinton, April Schweitzer, and Amma Waddell as well as guest choreographers. 

We provide quality dance education for ages 2-adult in many disciplines such as Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. Through our outreach program, RE-OPEN (Royal Expressions Outreach Program and Education Network) we aim to serve at risk youth and the elderly as a therapeutic measure.

Our teachers go through rigorous training in the Royal Expressions Curriculum to ensure the instruction they provide is of the highest quality.  We also offer the American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum Pre-Primary to Level 3.  We are in the process of certification for Levels 4 & 5.

We also host a Master Class series featuring prominent dancers from around the country. These instructors come to our studio, which is open to the community, to provide dancers with even more opportunities to learn different techniques. Past artists have included Misty Copeland, Alicia Graf Mack, Carlita Ector, Kentrell Newton, and Kara "KJ" Wade.
