LaTanya & the Youth of Englewood

LaTanya & The Youth of Englewood is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that works with at-risk youth. Recreational activities, educational programs, mentorship, advocacy, and support.

LaTanya Johnson was born & raised in Englewood. She's a mother of 4 children. LaTanya is a community leader, youth advocate, mentor, etc. LaTanya started her non-profit in June of 2013 called, LaTanya & The Youth of Englewood. LaTanya has served thousands of children in the Englewood community and Chicagoland. 

LaTanya & The Youth of Englewood is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that provides life skill building after school/spring/summer programming for young people ages 5&up. She has been doing this for 8 years. 

Back in 2014, Latanya's story was first told on The Jam (Ch26 The U) where she was acknowledged as The Mother of Englewood, they help raise funds to continue to keep kids safe in the Englewood community. 

In 2019 Mike Rowe and his team found out about what she was doing for her community, they reached out to film a day in the life of what she does. Little did she know they were planning to surprise her with a customized 15-seat passenger van, toys, and a check.

LaTanya Johnson is a faithful servant in her community.
