Gracious Hands Transitional House

Gracious Hands Transitional House is dedicated to supporting mothers and children who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. We provide families with a safe and supportive environment while helping mothers develop the skills, resources, and confidence needed to achieve stable housing and long-term self-sufficiency. Our goal is to support the whole family. We understand that when a mother is struggling with housing instability, her children are affected as well. That is why Gracious Hands provides services and opportunities designed to meet the needs of both mothers and children.

What We Provide

Gracious Hands provides mothers and children with a variety of supportive services, including:

Counseling Services** to provide emotional support and guidance.

Life Coaching** to help mothers establish goals and create plans for their future.

Financial Literacy** to teach budgeting, saving, money management, and financial responsibility.

Homeownership Classes** to educate families about preparing for homeownership and long-term housing stability.

Art Classes** to encourage creativity, self-expression, and positive outlets for mothers and children.

Healthy Eating and Cooking Classes to teach families how to prepare healthy, affordable meals.

Therapy for Children** to provide children with additional emotional and therapeutic support.

Free Daycare** to provide safe and dependable childcare for participating families.

Program Success and Outcomes

Gracious Hands is proud of the progress our families make during their time in the program. Women who successfully complete the program have demonstrated significant improvements in their financial stability and housing situations.

Successful program graduates have:

Saved at least $5,000 in their savings accounts.

Improved their credit scores during their time in the program.

Obtained permanent housing after successfully completing the program.

Increased their ability to maintain stable housing and support their families independently.

We walk alongside each mother and her children, helping them overcome barriers, build financial stability, strengthen their confidence, and prepare for a successful future. Through housing, education, counseling, childcare, and supportive services, Gracious Hands helps mothers and children move from homelessness toward stability, independence, and permanent housing.

A Success Story

Gracious Hands Transitional House is proud to have many success stories from mothers who have worked hard to create a better future for themselves and their children.

One of our most recent success stories is a 26-year-old mother of two who spent a little over a year at Gracious Hands. During her time in the program, she was able to save more than $5,000, build her credit, and purchase a brand-new home for her family. Before moving into her new home, she was also able to fully furnish it, allowing her and her children to move into a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home.

Her story is just one example of the many women who have successfully completed the Gracious Hands program and gone on to achieve permanent housing, financial stability, and a brighter future for their families. At Gracious Hands, we believe that with the right support, resources, accountability, and determination, mothers can overcome homelessness and create lasting change for themselves and their children.
