Welcome to CASA Prince George’s County!

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Prince George’s County is a volunteer-based nonprofit that partners with the Prince George’s County Circuit Court to advocate for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect and are living in foster care.

For 25 years, CASA has recruited, trained and supported community volunteers who provide consistent, one-on-one advocacy and help ensure that the voices, needs and best interests of children and youth are heard.

CASA Prince George’s County is proudly Black-led and Black-serving. Nearly 79% of the children and youth we serve are Black, 81.8% of our Board of Directors is Black/African American, and 61.5% of our staff is Black/African American.

Our Impact

During our most recent fiscal year:

• 136 children and youth received one-on-one advocacy from trained CASA Volunteer Advocates.

• 121 community volunteers served as advocates for children and youth in foster care.

• 120 transition-age youth received additional support as they prepared for adulthood, including educational, employment and life-skills resources.

• More than $53,000 in emergency and essential support was provided to 117 current and former foster care youth through our Fund for Foster Youth.

• 23 young people received more than $52,000 in educational scholarships.

• Through Thrive Prince George’s, 50 young adults who experienced foster care are receiving $800 per month in guaranteed income for 24 months, along with additional resources and support.
