Arts Administrators of Color Network

Founded in 2016, the Arts Administrators of Color Network (AAC) began with a simple but powerful act: the launch of a Facebook group created to connect BIPOC arts administrators seeking support, solidarity, and belonging in a field where too many were navigating their careers and leadership in isolation.

What started as a grassroots community space has grown into a national leadership and field-building organization advancing connection, leadership, opportunity, and collective power for arts and cultural workers of the global majority across the country.

AAC creates spaces where arts and cultural workers can build relationships, develop as leaders, access opportunities, exchange knowledge, and strengthen the collective power needed to build a more equitable creative sector.

A Decade of Impact

Over the past 10 years, AAC has:

• Built a national network reaching 15,000+ arts and cultural workers
• Connected thousands of BIPOC arts leaders through workshops, affinity spaces, mentorship, networking, and peer connection
• Hosted national convenings and gatherings connecting leaders across 20+ states and Washington, DC
• Supported 100+ arts leaders through AAC's mentorship program
• Distributed emergency mini-grants to nearly 1,000 BIPOC artists and arts administrators during the height of COVID-19
• Expanded access to jobs, gigs, fellowships, residencies, and career opportunities through AAC's opportunity-sharing platforms
• Created trusted spaces for leadership, collective care, and community
• Advanced research elevating the experiences and priorities of global majority arts leaders
