In the heart of Sarasota, where public transit barely reached the doorsteps of those who needed it most, a gap in transportation was quietly shaping the lives of the elderly, disabled, and low-income families. Many were missing doctor’s appointments, isolated from their community, or unable to access basic needs. That’s when Around The Way Haven of Hope decided to change the narrative.

Founded with a single vision — to restore dignity and access through reliable, compassionate transportation — the nonprofit launched with just one van and a deep commitment to serve. What started as a grassroots solution quickly became a lifeline for many.

When three seniors in the same apartment complex needed transportation to a community food pantry, Around The Way Haven of Hope arranged regular group pickups.
