Hi there, I'm Katie - an Executive Board member of MH Boxes, a non-profit that was started by Mila Henry and her mom, Carissa. After hearing about Mila's personal experience with accessing mental health resources as a pre-teen, I signed on to support the organization in 2024.
The mission of MH Boxes is really quite simple: to reduce the stigma of mental health struggles by providing boxes filled with comfort and resource-based items, culturally tailored for Black adolescent girls, to spur open and honest conversations about mental health.
Thirty. Five. Dollars.
That's how much it costs to assemble and ship one box.
To date, MH Boxes has delivered over 3,000 boxes to girls around the country, showing them that our mental health is not something to be shamed, and that they M A T T E R.
Each board member is fundraising on behalf of MH Boxes with the goal of being able to expand our offerings including a national Youth Advisory Board, speaking engagements, and more resources and tools to pair with the boxes.
