Foundation for Louisiana is the people’s foundation. We expand opportunity and wellbeing across the state by investing in local leadership and community-driven solutions to strengthen the conditions that help every Louisianan live a safe, stable, connected, and dignified life. Our work grows from the belief that those closest to community life hold the clearest insight into what creates safety, stability, and opportunity.

Black Philanthropy in Louisiana: A Foundational Part of our State's History 

Louisiana is home to benevolent societies and social aid and pleasure clubs—institutions that were guided by the idea that every dollar was a declaration of the future we want. The tradition of community-rooted giving is philanthropy in its truest form. That's the spirit we strive to embody in every grant we make, every world maker we support, and every dollar we steward.
