Remix Science and Care

ReMix Science and Care is a Black-founded nonprofit expanding access to education, professional development, and career opportunities for students and early professionals pursuing science, engineering, and healthcare careers.

We serve individuals who are often expected to navigate these pathways with limited financial resources, professional connections, or institutional support, including Black students, first-generation students, and others from historically underrepresented communities.

Talent is everywhere, but access is not. The cost of an entrance exam, conference registration, professional certification, application fee, or travel opportunity can determine whether a student is able to take the next step toward their goals. ReMix Science and Care works to reduce those barriers by combining microgrants, mentorship, career exposure, and community care into one supportive network.

Our work includes:

• Providing microgrants for educational and professional expenses

• Connecting students with mentors and supportive professional networks

• Creating opportunities for career exploration and STEM and healthcare exposure

• Partnering with schools, businesses, and community organizations

• Building a community where underrepresented students feel supported, valued, and equipped to succeed

In 2026, ReMix Science and Care received a $15,000 RISE HIGH grant from Neighborhood Allies to support the expansion of our microgrant work. This investment created an important foundation, but our vision extends far beyond one grant or one group of recipients. As a small grassroots organization, every additional contribution directly increases the number of students we can reach and the opportunities we can help make possible.

Support received through Give 8/28 will help fund student microgrants, outreach, mentorship programming, application and program administration, and other resources needed to grow our impact responsibly.
