Our Story

Historic West End Partners (HWEP) works alongside Historic West End businesses and neighbors to strengthen the businesses, culture, and community fabric of Charlotte's Historic West End Corridor.

This is a neighborhood with deep roots — a legacy of Black entrepreneurship, culture, and community that has shaped Charlotte for generations. Our work is about honoring that legacy while building what's next: supporting the small business owners who anchor this corridor, connecting neighbors to resources and each other, and creating the programs and partnerships that help this community thrive on its own terms.

Every dollar raised through Give 8/28 goes directly toward that work — outreach that keeps neighbors informed and connected, programs that support local business owners, and the everyday organizing that makes lasting change possible.

• Strengthen community outreach and communication across the neighborhood
